Important Dates
October 17 - December 31
Susan will focus on getting the new server installed and configured. Work continues on a disaster/recovery plan as well as research for data-storage solutions.
October 30 - November 2
Kathleen and her staff will be removing over 50 computers in both the COMM and PAAW student labs and replacing them with new computers.
Inventory Tracking
We recently purchased Barcode technology to more efficiently track SSPA technology inventory.
Disaster/Recovery
We purchased a second server to be placed in a different location and are working on a disaster/recovery plan.
New Office & Work Space
We have expanded into PAAW 124 where our offices are now located, providing space and quiet in which we will cross-train and collaborate. Our goals include providing backup for each other rather than being on call 24/7 and finding more efficient ways to provide the best technology support for our college. PAAW 124.1 will continue to serve as a work room. The back of the room will be the secure server room. The front of the room will be used for equipment repair, desktop setup, software and hardware testing, and lab assistant training.
Standardization
We recently developed a list of standard software and computer setups that we can support with available staff and resources. Please note, the Help Desk provides support for MAC computer and laptops.
