Boise State University is an urban university located adjacent to the Boise River.
Our department resides within the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs.
Being part of an urban university affords our department opportunities for a wide range of exciting community partnerships. These partnerships provide our faculty and students with the mechanism to conduct relevant and timely applied research focusing on improving the human condition. Working and living in a desirable environment allows us to attract outstanding faculty who are interested in seeking the best possible quality of life.
Consequently, we have very talented faculty who have received numerous awards for their valuable contributions. Our department has an applied psychological science approach with an emphasis on community partnerships and civic engagement. Accordingly, we are known for quality teaching, first-rate research, and commendable service, both to the community and to the profession.
