Network Update

It is time again for the Inland Marine Insurance updates and the move by Boise State to not tag items under $2000 (the state is not tagging items under $5000) has made this job harder this year than in past years.  I have strived to keep up with department purchases and use our college tags on technology item purchases under $2000, but I may not have gotten them all.  If you believe you have something that needs a college tag, please contact me.  (Karen and I are working with the department staff to get a combined spreadsheet on the common drive.)

Also, I want to remind you of this - I have been able to put together a multimedia cart with laptop, projector, VCR, and zip drive for use by faculty in the classroom, for brown bag presentations, for workshops, or wherever there is a need.  Please contact me if you are interested in using this cart.

REMINDER:

Remember to always call your Network Administrator for issues with your computer and connectivity.  I will advise you whether to call the help desk or if I cannot handle the call, will probably make a help desk call request myself.  The help desk is to be called first only on GroupWise or PeopleSoft issues....

Also, I cannot repeat too many times,  update your virus protection (Norton Corporate Edition) often and scan your computer often. Workstations as well as servers have been targets of the viruses that are going around.  Save your data often and be sure you have a backup on the server (your 'H' or 'I' folders).

 STUDENT LABS

    PAAW125 lab

Open lab hours are posted at each site.  If you wish to reserve either computer lab for instructional use, or have questions or requests, please contact Susan Emerson, SSPA Lab Coordinator at 426-3816, or via e-mail, semerson@boisestate.edu.

I'd like to take this space to personally praise Susan for the great job she has done this year in the SSPA student labs and in her assistance with college troubleshooting and issues.  It has been challenging for her and she has excelled.
