Network Update

The new semester has started and it's been very busy so far for the technology folks in SSPA.  Susan Emerson, as you all know, was hired as the temporary assistant to the Network Administrator (technically she is an IT Support Technician).  My duties at the President's Office have increased and I am spending afternoons in the office they've provided me in the Business Building.  You can still reach me by my cell phone (850-9315) if you have an emergency or cannot locate Susan.

The third year of the technology plan was approved by the chairs and all equipment has been ordered.  Susan will begin preparing them for installation as soon as they arrive.

The computer labs/classrooms are fully staffed and the open hours have been extended to offer more time for students to use them.  Zachary Snyder has been hired as the lab coordinator for this semester to oversee the monitors and the operations of the labs.  If you want to schedule time in the labs for classes or workshops, please contact Zach by e-mail (zsnyder@mailandnews.com) or call my extension and leave a message for him.

As indicated by the BSU Update, our college is very busy with books, articles, and presentations.  Our task in the technology group is to assure that each faculty and staff workstation is operational and networked.

If you are having problems connecting to the network, or your PC is not responding as well as it should be responding, please contact x3816.

Check out our new digs!
