Scholarships

The deadline has passed for the Department of Communication to accept scholarship applications for 2013-2014. 

The Submission Deadline for 2014-2015 is March 1, 2014.

A list of the donor scholarships offered through the Department of Communication
is included in the Scholarship Application. As always, we wish to thank our most
generous patrons for making these scholarships available to our students.

    Deadline to apply is February 15, 2014 for the following Fall
    The $1,500 Don Watkins Scholarship is awarded each year to graduates of Idaho high schools who have completed one year of college and wish to pursue a career in journalism or communications. Full-time students majoring in journalism or working for a college or professional media outlet are eligible.To apply, submit a one-page resume; a 500-word essay explaining your interest in a journalism or communications career; samples of your journalistic work, whether published or unpublished; and a copy of your transcripts, including GPA, through the most recent fall term.     Application deadline is March 1, 2014 
    Outdoor Writers Association of America will be accepting applications for its Bodie McDowell scholarship program. Scholarships are for the 2014-15 academic year. Established in 1966, more than $100,000 in scholarships has been awarded since 2002. Approximately $16,000 in scholarships was awarded in 2012. Each scholarship includes a one-year student membership with OWAA.The Bodie McDowell scholarship program is open to undergraduate and graduate-level college students pursuing a degree in an outdoor communications field. Undergraduate applicants must be entering their junior or senior years of study; graduate student applicants must have at least one remaining year of study.
