COMMUNICATION CONVENTION (COMMCON)

With support from the Department of Communication and local sponsors, PRSSA hosts this annual celebration each spring on the Boise State Campus. CommCon began as a project in the Events Planning class, but has gone on to become a signature PRSSA event. The event showcases the communication discipline through an interactive gathering of professionals, alumni, students, and prospective students.

Professional communicators of every kind are invited to campus to share their experiences with college and high school students. Local and student television, radio, and newspaper organizations participated and Communication students shared video, audio, and research projects. Boise State Communications and Marketing and Boise State Athletics have supported PRSSA through participation and promotion, as have communicators from the Mountain Home Air Force Base, the Idaho State Insurance Fund and a variety of public relations and public affairs representatives.  Communication Department alumns, current students and area high school students enjoy interactive booths and hands-on exhibits, network with local professionals, meet department alumni, and share your experiences with others. Door prizes and refreshments round out the fun at this springtime crowd pleaser.

2009 PRSSA NATIONAL CONFERENCE

National conference is a great experience for any student interested in PR. We sent 11 students to the 2009 conference in San Diego, CA. We are working hard to be able to send the entire class to the 2011 conference.
