New Report: Community Assessment of Treasure Valley

The United Way of Treasure Valley, Saint Alphonsus Health System and St. Luke’s Health System, contracted with The Public Policy Center in 2011 to conduct a community assessment for the Treasure Valley (primarily Ada and Canyon Counties), which is the population center of Idaho.  A community assessment is a process of gathering, analyzing, and reporting information about the needs of the community and the capacities or strengths that are also currently available to meet those needs. This report details the findings of the Treasure Valley community assessment.

The report includes sections about Education, Health and Wellness, Financial Independence and Basic Needs, and a special section on Refugee Issues.  The findings incorporate the results of  rigorous literature reviews, collection of secondary data or “indicators,” survey research, focus groups, and interviews with stakeholders and the affected populations.
