The College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs (SSPA) continues to hold the distinction as one of the largest colleges at Boise State University and of graduating the most students’ year in and year out. Yet SSPA remains one of the more under-resourced colleges when it comes to its ability to provide scholarship support to its most deserving students. Currently, SSPA has a total of 49 endowed scholarship funds that can be accessed in supporting the more than 4,832 declared majors within SSPA. This lack of scholarship support means that many deserving students must look towards alternative means of funding their education. SSPA would like to change that.
One small step in the right direction is through Campaign $20.12. Campaign $20.12 is an exciting scholarship program that we began last year. Campaign $20.12 seeks to help SSPA build scholarship support with the help and assistance of our own SSPA graduating students of the Class of 2012. The premise is simple – if each and every graduating student were to make a gift of $20.12 in support of Campaign $20.12 – SSPA would be able to permanently endow a new scholarship fund that will benefit future students attending the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs. This scholarship would initially provide nearly $500 annually to a deserving student in perpetuity. If we receive additional support from family, friends, faculty and staff –we could not only increase the scholarship amount but we could potentially increase the number of scholarships provided.
Campaign $20.12 officially kicked off in January. So if you haven’t given yet please take a moment and make your gift in support of Campaign $20.12. Your gift will make the difference in the lives of future students here at Boise State University.
