
Staff & Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Grants
Application and Instructions
The Dean's Office is making $3,000 available to support staff and adjunct faculty professional development. Funding can be used for any professional development activity including, but not limited to: workshops, honoraria, travel expenses (including travel for paper presentations), materials, supplies, and equipment[1] These funds cannot be used for salaries, wages, or assistantships. The grants will be competitively based and awarded by the Dean. The maximum award will be $500. Applications can be submitted and funds allocated at anytime during the fiscal year until the funds are depleted.[2] Typically, one award per person is made each year. Successful applicants are expected to submit, after the event, a written report that indicates how the funds were spent and the benefits to the recipient and the department and/or college.
Priority will be given to proposals that:
· enhance the performance capabilities of the recipient.
· improve the overall quality of the work environment.
· improve the overall quality of the teaching environment.
· impact a substantial number of students.
· are submitted by applicants who have not received a similar grant in the past two years

[1] Any materials or equipment purchased with these funds remain the property of the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs.
[2] Funds not spent by the end of the fiscal year (June 30) are no longer available.
