College-Wide Scholarships
Dean's Fund.
This unrestricted fund allows the College
to respond to urgent needs and new opportunities while
supporting a number of activities designed to enhance the
research and learning environment in the College. Gifts to
this fund will be used to address the College's and the
Dean's highest priority - student success.
First-Generation College Scholarships. National
studies show that these students are twice as likely to leave school before
their sophomore year, are more dependent on financial aid and more likely to
be employed while attending school. This scholarship is designed to assist
with the cost of attending college, allowing them to focus on academics and
become involved in campus activities. This scholarship is not yet endowed,
but is a priority in the College.
Canadian Studies Scholarship–for students pursuing the Canadian Studies Minor, administered by
Dr. Mark Plew, Anthropology.
MLK/Meredyth Burns Endowed Scholarship–open to all students, administered by
the Department of Sociology.
Native American Studies Scholarship–open to any Native American student, administered by the
Department of
Anthropology.
Gender Studies Scholarship–for students pursuing the
Gender Studies Minor, administered by
Dr. Lisa McLain,
Department of History.
Single Parent Scholarship and the McCraw Family Single Parent Scholarship–open to all majors within the college, must be single parent/head of household
in addition to other criteria; administered by

Ralston Family Scholarship - This endowed
scholarship provides support to SSPA majors who are also parents of
children.
