Dean's Distinguished
Professors The Dean's Distinguished Professors
Program recognizes and rewards faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional performance and whose leadership, innovation and intellect are bringing national attention to the
College and to Boise State University. The Program's goal is to help ensure that these talented professors will continue to enrich SSPA students' lives and the
College's academic environment. Endowed Chairs Endowed chairs enable the
College to attract or recognize professors at the highest level of achievement and stature. An endowed chair is the single highest distinction that an accomplished faculty member can receive. The endowment is held in perpetuity, and the proceeds (endowment payout) support the research and teaching activities of the chair holder, significantly enriching the department, center, institute or school as a whole. Establishing an endowed chair not only brings distinction to the chair holder but also to
a department and the College. This significant gift can signify world-class excellence to the university and to the worldwide academic community.

Endowed Professorships Endowed professorships enable the
College to attract or recognize professors who are rising stars in their fields. It is a distinction that can help the
College attract great new talent to the faculty ranks or reward existing faculty members who are making a significant mark in their disciplines. Supporting the research of a specific faculty member can enable you to make an impact in an area of study that is of particular interest or concern to you. From working with pre-school children with speech deficiencies, to helping children cope with divorce or poverty, to improving writing skills among college freshmen, to improving motor skills for patients with Parkinson's disease--SSPA faculty work in areas that significantly affect quality of life for individuals, for neighborhoods, and for people around the world.
